ITINERARY
|
Day 0: Ho Chi Minh art tour (Lunch)
This morning your tour starts when your guide picks you up at your hotel in city center and transfers you to Si Hoang Ao Dai museum. This museum is the dream cherished for 12 years by “Ao Dai” designer-artist Si Hoang.
Part of Hoang’s 20,000m2 garden house, which boasts rustic southern landscape and age-old wood architecture, the museum showcases more than 60 “Ao Dai” owned by the Nguyen (1802-1945) kings and royal families, female military leaders, diplomats, artists and actresses. Stories about these “Ao Dai” and their owners are also featured. The museum will also offer exhibition of works in music, literature, cinema and art, which are inspired by the traditional costume.
Next, visit a Sand Painting workshop to admire and learn how to create a Sand Painting. Sand Paintings are the latest and the most special gifts in Vietnam. All paintings are made from natural, non-processed sand during the formation process without using any bonding chemicals. Here you will also have the chance to try practicing the simple painting on your own.
Enjoy lunch with authentic Vietnamese food at local restaurant.
After lunch, transfer to city center to visit one ‘Truc Mai Home Concert'. This is home of Mrs. Tuyet Mai and Mr. Dinh Linh, who are both long time experts of traditional music. You will hear related stories and legends as you are guided through a journey of Vietnamese music with our folk instruments, such as the bamboo xylophone, the zither (a long, flat string instrument), the stone lithophone (a kind of glockenspiel) and the flute.
Enjoy a close-up and authentic experience with no stage separating you from these talented artists and their music. You will get the opportunity to try your own hand at playing one of these fantastic instruments - guaranteed to be much harder than it looks.
After the show, transfer back to hotel. End of service.
