ITINERARY

Day 1: HANOI – ARRIVAL (Nil)
Welcome to Hanoi, Vietnam’s bustling capital. Your driver and guide will meet you outside the baggage claim of Noi Bai Airport and take you to your hotel in the city center for check-in procedures (after 02:00 PM). Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: HANOI – FULL DAY CITY TOUR (Breakfast)
Start to visit Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum and his house on stilt, the botanical garden and the Presidential palace while learning about his life and revolutionary activities. This used to be the residence of the Governor of Indochina. On the way out visit One Pillar pagoda. The pagoda was constructed in 1049 by King Ly Thai Tong according to his dream of Bodhisattva seating on a lotus flower and led him to the pagoda. Arriving at the Temple of Literature, this is the first Royal National university in Vietnam.
Continue to visit Hoan Kiem lake (Restored Sword lake) and Ngoc Son temple. Situated in the heart of Hanoi, the lake got its name according to a legend story. In the end of the tour you will take the 45 minutes cyclo tour around the Old quarter through its streets which are named after the guilds that used to represent such as Hang Bac (Silver Street), Hang Gai (Silk Street), Hang Tre (Bamboo Street) etc. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 3: HANOI – SAPA – CAT CAT (Breakfast)
08:00: Pick up and depart to Sapa with two breaks on the way.
13:00: Arrive in Sapa town, you will see colorful traditional costumes of H’mong, Dzao & Tay ethnic people. Check-in procedures.
14:30: A short drive to the gate of Cat Cat village which is home of Black H’mong ethnic people and is located near the bottom of a deep valley at the foot of Fansipan peak. Our guide will show you the daily life activities of the locals, trek down to the valley bottom to the waterfall where the French built a Hydraulic power station; stop for photo with bridge and waterfall then you will walk uphill.
Trekking distance is about 2.5 kms and it lasts for 2 hours
Come back to Sapa town. Overnight in Sapa.
Day 4: SAPA – LAO CHAI – TA VAN – GIANG TA CHAI – SAPA (Breakfast)
Embark on a lovely trek that will take along buffalo paths and trails and through several hill tribe villages Lao Chai and Ta Van, home to Black H’mong and Dzay people. This is an absolutely spectacular walk through stunning scenery inhabited by some of the friendliest people you can meet. Once on the valley floor you can really appreciate the wonderful scenery surrounding you. The walls of the valley are covered with multi-layered rice terraced fields. After small break at noon, we will walk to the rice paddy field where we will have a nice photo session of the amazing surrounding landscapes. A trek through the bamboo forest soon follows which gives you the experience of Vietnam tropical jungle. Along the way, we will stop by a waterfall to have a panorama view of Giang Ta Chai village. Then walk to main road to drive back to Sapa. Overnight in Sapa.
Day 5: SAPA – SUOI HO – TA PHIN – HANOI (Breakfast)
08:00: We begin the day with a 3km trek through breathtaking landscape to the village of Suoi Ho, home of H’mong minority. From here you can enjoy views over endless rice terraces and tea plantations. You will have the opportunity to see some of the animals used by the locals. Continuing on to Matra village you will come across the impressive ruins of a church dating back to the French occupation in the early 1900s. Take a minute to explore this intriguing sight and take some photos. Trekking to the village of Ta Phin you will be able to meet both Black H’mong and Red Dzao minorities. The Red Dao are known for their expertise in herbal medicine, and use plants from the land to treat many illnesses.
13:00: Say goodbye to Sapa and drive back to Ha Noi. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 6: HANOI – HA LONG BAY (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Halong bay must be a Vietnam’s most famous and most popular UNESCO World Heritage site. We start at 8.00 A.M for the 3 hour drive (170 km) through the Red River delta, which offers plenty of chances for taking photos of Vietnamese farmers tilling the vast green paddy fields. At half way, we'll have a visit to a handicraft workshop with fine clothes, embroidered paintings, stone statuettes and all kinds of gems mined in Vietnam such as star rubies or sapphires. Our destination is the World Heritage site of Ha Long bay. The name “Halong” means the descending dragon in to the sea. Legend states that gods sent dragons, who dropped jewels and jade from their mouths into the bay, creating the islands. The towering limestone karsts represent the dragon’s back, surrounded by jade green water creating an unforgettable site. There are more than 1600 limestone islands and islets with different shapes jutting out from the sea. Most of them are still intact from human activities thanks to their uninhabited and uncultivated characters.

12:30 Upon arrival, receptionists welcome guests at the International Tuan Chau harbour.
12: 45 Captain welcomes guests to Syrena cruise by tender. Check in cruise whilst enjoying a welcome drink, safety briefing and check in cabin.
13:00 Leaving International Tuan Chau harbor to discover the Halong Bay - natural wonders of the world. Have buffet lunch with special dishes while cruising through famous sights Ba Hang fishing village, Đỉnh Hương island, Chó Đá islet, Gà Chọi islet...14:30 Cruise stops at 587, the core area of the world natural heritage. Transfer by tender to Luồn cave - one of the caves with haft-open form has special endemic plants of Halong Bay. Visit Luồn cave by a traditionally woven (bamboo) boat rowed by a local boatman.
15:30 Leaving Luồn cave, transfer by tender to the Titov island which was named by Uncle Ho, after Gherman Stepanovich Titov - the Soviet astronaut who visited in 1962. Enjoy swimming, relaxing on the beach or climb the steps of the Rock mountain. On the top of the mountain, you can see a corner of magical Halong Bay.
16:30 Back to the cruise. Relax and enjoy sunset on the sun deck. You can book 45 minute chargeable kayaking program to discover more about Halong Bay (contact with cruise manager for service price). While cruising to overnight anchorage at Trong cave, you will approach Đầu Người islet, Yên Ngựa islet, Động Tiên cave.
18:00 HAPPY HOUR - Buy 1 drink get 1 free (wine excluded) and join Vietnamese cooking demonstration.

Day 7: HA LONG BAY – NINH BINH (Breakfast, Lunch)
06:00 Morning call (if you request).
06:30 Enjoy Tai Chi instructions on the sundeck in 30 minutes.
07:00 Coffee, tea, fresh milk, water, pastries, fresh fruit, cereals etc will be served in the dining room.
08:00 Arrive at Bồ Nâu cave. Transfer by tender to the Sửng Sốt cave. - one of the most beautiful caves in Halong Bay.
09:00 Come back to Syrena Cruises relax and check out of cabin. Approaching International Tuan Chau harbour.
09:15 Enjoy brunch buffet menu served in the dining room and settle the bills (if you have).
10:45 Transfer by tender back to Tuan Chau harbour and disembarkation. Your private guide and driver will pick up and transfer you to the next destination in Ninh Binh.
Upon arrival in Ninh Binh around 16:00 pm and check in hotel, you may choose to either relax and enjoy the facilities at your hotel, to take a walk or bicycle ride through the rice paddy fields that surround beautiful limestone mountains of the country side. Overnight in Ninh Binh.
Day 8: NINH BINH – TRANG AN – HANOI – LUANG PRABANG (Breakfast)
After breakfast, visit Hoa Lu ancient capital. Hoa Lu is the site of a 10th-century capital of an ancient Vietnamese Kingdom. Take a 3 hours rowing boat for a peaceful cruise on the river to explore Trang An grottoes. June 2014, UNESCO has inscribed Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex in Ninh Binh province to its World Heritage list. During the journey through Trang An, you will travel through 12 caves and 3 temples and the scenery of the nature of Trang An is just unreal.
Transfer back to Ha Noi for your flight to Luang Prabang in the evening.
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to check in the hotel. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 9: LUANG PRABANG – TOUR PAK OU CAVES – KHUANG SI WATERFALL (Breakfast)
If you get up early this morning, you can experience the fascinating morning ritual of orange-clad monks. These collect donations in the form of food for the poorer population of the city.
After breakfast, start by visiting the oldest temples of the city, Wat Sene and Wat Xiengthong, which represent the classical architecture of the Buddhist temples in Laos.
By boat, drive along the Mekong through beautiful landscapes to the Pak Ou caves. In these two interconnected caves are thousands of golden Buddha statues of different shapes and sizes. On the way, in the small town of Ban Xanghai, you can learn how the local rice wine is produced.
Your destination in the afternoon is the Khuang-Si waterfalls. On the way visit some villages of different ethnic minorities. The turquoise waterfalls invite you to take a bath in one of the numerous cascades. Visit Wat Siphouthabath in Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang
Day 10: LUANG PRABANG – COOKING CLASS (Breakfast, Lunch)
08:30 Today, you will take part in the cooking class at Tamarind restaurant. We start with a visit to the major food market, explain what the foods are and what they are used for.
We then transfer back to Tamarind Garden to cook and eat. What you experience should be:
· Varieties of jeow: the fundamental Lao spicy dipping sauces.
· Mok Pa, a popular dish of herbed fish steamed in banana leaves.
· Tamarind’s speciality: lemongrass stuffed with chicken & herbs.
· Laap/koy, a minced meat salad, fragrant with herbs.
· Dessert course: a surprise!
· Of course you’ll learn the art to perfect sticky rice and its eating etiquette..
After lunch, your city tour begins with a visit to the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. After that, you will visit Royal Palace museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts. From there, we ascend the 329 steps to the top of Phousi Hill for the panoramic view of the city and the Mekong River.
The tour ends after a visit to the famous Night market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles made by local and hilltribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 11: LUANG PRABANG – VANG VIENG (Breakfast)
In the morning, we travel by road south to Vang Vieng. Our intrepid journey will be strenuous as we drive along one of the most scenic region of Laos. The road is now good enough for our drive. Along the way, we will make some stop to visit a local school at Ban Ber Sip, and local villages of H’Mong ethnic groups. After about one-hour drive, we will have chance to enjoy the panoramic view at the highest peak of the area, which is more than 2000 meter high. We will have lunch in Kasi (your own account) before continuing to Vang Vieng.
After lunch, we will drive to visit Pha Hom market, where we can find various offer of wild animals. We will also stop at Ban Phouhin Lekphay to see the life of Khmu hill-tribe. Our next photo stop is at Phatang Mountain view point to admire the beautiful scenery.
Before reaching Vang Vieng, we will visit the H’Mong village of Ban Phathau, a very pleasant village where we can explore the different local lifestyles.
Upon arrival, we still have time to visit the cave of Tham Jang, which was used in the early 19th century in defense against the Chinese invaders. From the cave, we can admire the panoramic view over the town of Vang Vieng and the nearby area whilst the sun is setting. Overnight in Vang Vieng
Day 12: VANG VIENG – VIENTIANE (Breakfast)
In the morning, we will first stroll around the town to visit the local market to catch a glimpse of everyday life in a typical Laos rural area.
After breakfast, we start our board through paddy field areas heading to Tham Phoukham caves, where your breath will be taken away seeing the most beautiful and famous limestone cavern, surrounded by natural forests. Along the way, you have chance to explore the local cultures by greeting the local villagers and learning about their daily lifestyle. There is a small natural pool in front of the caves where you can take a swim to refresh yourself from the hot climate or you could explore the nearby area.
We bid farewell to Vang Vieng and drive to Vientiane. Located on the banks of the Mekong River, this capital conjures up exotic images, with a curious mix of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French influences. Overnight in Vientiane.
Day 13: VIENTIANE – BUDDHA PARK (Breakfast)
In the morning, we will first visit Wat Si Muang, which is very famous for its supernatural power. After that drive to Buddha park which takes around 45 minutes away. On the way, stop and take photos of the Friendship bridge which was built by the Australian government in 1994 and links Laos and Thailand.
Arrive at Buddha Park and enjoy a stroll around the park. Also known as Xieng Khuan, this unusual park is filled with over 200 Buddhist and Hindu statues. The quiet and tranquil setting along the Mekong River is a contrast to the slightly eccentric sculptures which were built in 1958 by a Laos’s shaman. The concrete sculptures are bizarre but intriguing, sitting majestically in the peaceful park.
After visiting Buddha park, start the drive back to Vientiane. Enroute, stop at Mai Savanh to explore the traditional textiles of the Laos people. This shop specializes in high quality silk products and involves several families in their process, from the northern province of Luang Nam Tha province and the southern provinces of Attapeu and Sekong. (Note: Mai Savanh is closed on Saturday & Sunday)
Start the afternoon with a visit to That Luang, the holiest site in Laos. Constructed by King Setthethirat in the 16th century, the temple is resplendent as the sun is shines upon its towering golden spire. Then, enjoy a panoramic view over the city as you climb the stairs to the top of Patuxai, Vientiane’s own “Arc de Triomphe”.
Continue down Lane Xang Avenue the serene Wat Sisaket, the only temple left intact after the Siamese (Thai) invasion in 1828. It is one of the most beautiful temples in the capital, and its breezy teak covered hallways are filled with thousands of miniature Buddha statues.
Continue on to the nearby Wat Phra Keo. Used as a religious museum, Wat Phra Keo displays a collection of both Laos and Khmer works of art. Overnight in Vientiane
Day 14: VIENTIANE – FLIGHT TO SIEM REAP (Breakfast)
Free at leisure until transferring to the airport for noon flight to Siem Reap.
Upon arrival, your guide and driver will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel for check-in.
In the afternoon: take a Tuk-Tuk ride in the surroundings of Angkor. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 15: SIEM REAP – ANGKOR TOUR (Breakfast)
In this morning- we spend a full day exploring the wondrous ancient ruins of Angkor area with the south gate of Angkor Thom, which is famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone, the impressive Bayon temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the largest as well as the most complete temple of Angkor Wat. This architectural masterpiece was constructed in the 12th century and covers an area of about 210 hectares. We stroll around this massive edifice, seeing the many galleries with colums, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds full of water reflecting the towering temple and the jungle covered temple of Ta Prohm, a truly incredible sight. There are enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers which embrace themselves in the stone foundations of the structure giving the impression of man’s creation being reclaimed by the powerful forces of nature. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 16: SIEM REAP – ANGKOR TOUR (Continue) (Breakfast)
Heading out of town we make our way by traveling on a newly paved road to the intricately carved and well preserved temple of Banteay Srei, constructed at the late 10th century by a Brahmin counselor under a powerking Rajendarvarman. It was loosely translated to citadel of the woman, but it is a modern appellation that probably refers to the delicate beauty of the carvings. Along the way we make stopover at the Preah Dark village and we follow these with a visit the Banteay Samre temple adorned with impressive relief’s depicting scenes of Vishunu as well as Krishna legends. Afternoon, we will drive to the floating village of Choueng Kneas village, where you will take the boat to visit the way of life Cambodian poor people along with schools, restaurants, hospitals and much more floating on the great lake of Tonle sap. You many even see enterprising children floating in buckets selling soft drinks and floating pig pen.
On the way back to the city, visit a work shop “Les Artisans d’Angkor - Chantiers Ecoles” of Siem Reap and local market “Psachas” where one might get something for souvenirs to take back home. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 17: SIEM REAP – FLIGHT TO PHNOM PENH (Breakfast)
Take a short morning flight to Phom Penh.
Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to the city for sightseeing. Visit the National museum, also called Musee des Beaux-Arts. A French archaeologist and painter, Georges Groslier, designed it in Khmer style in 1917. The museum contains a collection of Khmer art - notably sculptures - throughout the ages. Visit Tuol Sleng museum (S-21 prison). This former school was used as a prison by Pol Pot’s security forces. More than 17,000 people held at S-21 were taken to the extermination camp at Choeng Ek to be executed. Then drive to visit the “Killing Fields” of Choeng Ek (15 km south of Phnom Penh). Between 1975 and 1978 about 17,000 men, women, children and infants (including nine westerners) were detained and tortured at the S-21 prison and transported to extermination camp of Choeng Ek.
We end our day trip at Wat Phnom temple, Phnom Penh's namesake, from where you can enjoy views over the tree-lined avenues of Phnom Penh during sunset. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 18: PHNOM PENH – CHAU DOC (Breakfast)
In the morning, visit Royal Palace is a royal residence now where His Majesty, the King of Cambodia, and the royal families live. it is like a small town of royal dynasties. Continue to Silver pagoda, serves less as a functioning temple than a repository for cultural treasures such as 90 kg golden Buddha encrusted with 2086 diamonds.
Transfer to the pier for speedboat to Chau Doc, Vietnam. Arrival in the late afternoon in Chau Doc town near the Cambodian border, pick up and transfer to hotel. Overnight in Chau Doc.
Day 19: CHAU DOC – CAN THO (Breakfast)
In the morning, visit the Sam mountain, a popular pilgrimage site with a host of Chinese, Cham and Khmer temples, to enjoy the a breath-taking view. Here you will take a walk to visit Lady Xu temple, Thoai Ngoc Hau temple and Tay An pagoda.
Going on to Tra Su cajuput forest which is renowned for not only its almost-untouched natural beauty but also its sanctuary of flora and fauna. Take a boat trip into the forest, you will immediately feel like you are harmonising with nature because of all of the impressive pictures of cajuputs, the fragrance of the flowers and the music-like noise of birds, insects and animals making people relaxed comfortable. From the observation post, you can overlook the forest with an area of nearly 900 ha, home of many birds and animals, including some rare ones.
Then, say goodbye to Chau Doc and continue to drive to Can Tho. On the way, we will stop at Long Xuyen to visit Crocodile farm.
On arrival in Can Tho, free at your leisure. Overnight in Can Tho.
Day 20: CAN THO – CAI BE – HO CHI MINH CITY (Breakfast)
Breakfast at hotel.
The boat takes you to Cai Rang floating market which is the biggest floating markets where you will see many people gather together on the river to display and sell their products on their boats. Day 21: HO CHI MINH CITY – CU CHI TUNNELS (Breakfast)
Breakfast at hotel.
8:00 am: Start your sightseeing in the morning with a walking tour in Dong Khoi street and visit Notre Dame cathedral, the spiritual and cultural crucible of the French presence in the Orient & the General post office, City hall and Opera house, the ancient & with French colonial architecture style. Then visit War museum which primarily contains exhibits relating to the American phase of the Vietnam War and is a major tourist attraction, Reunification palace which was the workplace of the President of South Vietnam & was then known as Independence Palace. Visit Ben Thanh market which is always loaded with varieties of goods, such as consumer goods, cakes and candies, food and foodstuff, and particularly high-quality fruit and vegetables
Afternoon leave Ho Chi Minh for Cu Chi tunnels. In Cu Chi, starts with an introductory video detailing its long 25-year construction. Then it is time to go underground in the infamous 120-mile Cu Chi tunnel system which offered a safe haven for soldiers and thousands of Vietnamese people during the Vietnam War. It is virtually an underground city with dwelling houses, schools, hospitals and factories. On display are booby traps, the remains of a US army tank and huge craters left by American B52 bombs. Here you will have the opportunity to witness how rice paper is made and to explore the amazing labyrinth of tunnels used by the guerrillas during the war.
On the way back to Saigon, take a break in the rubber forests, where you can touch the rubber tree, see the latex and listen to the explanations of the origin and economic benefits of rubber trees in Vietnam. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.
Day 22: HO CHI MINH CITY – FLIGHT TO HUE (Breakfast)
Breakfast at hotel. Free at leisure until transfer to the airport for the noon flight to Hue.
Upon arrival, visit Imperial citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. Then, stop at Dong Ba market, where you can buy local products for souvenir before transfer to your hotel for checking in. Overnight in Hue.
Day 23: HUE – HOI AN (Breakfast)
Breakfast at hotel. Take a boat trip on the romantic Huong (Perfume) river to visit Hue's best-known religious site, Thien Mu 7-storey pagoda, Minh Mang tomb.
Transfer to Hoi An (130km with 2,5 hours driving). You will stop and visit Marble mountain which is made up of five limestone outcrops in isolation from the surrounding plains, each riddled with caves and grottoes, with some made into pagodas and shrines. The top offers spectacular views of Da Nang and the surrounding. On the way get through the Hai Van pass, one of the most beautiful panoramas of Vietnam offering stunning view over the central. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 24: HOI AN – TRA QUE VILLAGE (Breakfast, Lunch)
08:00: Join the tour to a local farm Tra Que village with bicycle. A short stroll will take you around the vegetable garden and then you can join the farmers in preparing the land and fertilizing it with seaweed from the local lake. Following steps are raking the ground, sowing, watering, picking vegetables and many other gardening activities. After all these activities, you will take a short rest and enjoy foot bath before getting to preparing lunch with a local family. Your lunch will consist of many local delicacies including ‘tam huu’ spring roll, Banh xeo or local pancake of people in Viet Nam middle region. You can join the cooking with the chef on these meals. After your morning excursion and your lunch, you will take a Vietnamese traditional post-prandial nap before learning how to harvest and wrap the vegetables.
Around 14.00: bid farewell to the host family before riding back to Hoi An, on the way back we will stop at Japanese tomb.

Return back to the town, take a walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit former merchants’ houses, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered bridge and the colorful market. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 25: HOI AN – DA NANG – DEPARTURE FLIGHT (Breakfast)
Breakfast at hotel. Free at own leisure until transferring to the airport for your flight to home via Da Nang airport.
